Project Hail Mary has taken home the top honor at the 2026 Golden Trailer Awards, winning Best of Show for its trailer titled “Chance.” The recognition highlights the film’s strong marketing campaign and its ability to connect with audiences through a carefully crafted preview.
The awards ceremony, held at the Saban Theatre in Beverly Hills, celebrates excellence in film marketing, including trailers, commercials, and promotional content. The winning trailer was produced by Amazon MGM Studios in collaboration with Wild Card Creative Group.
Why the “Chance” Trailer Stood Out
The “Chance” trailer was widely praised for its blend of visuals, sound design, and emotional storytelling. Evelyn Brady, executive director of the Golden Trailer Awards, described it as
“a master class in everything that can make a trailer effective.”
She added that the trailer’s combination of “spectacular visuals,” “arresting sound design,” and “emotional music choices” helped it resonate strongly with viewers. The use of humor alongside high-stakes storytelling also contributed to its impact.
This balance of tone allowed the trailer to appeal to a broad audience, positioning Project Hail Mary as one of the most anticipated sci-fi releases of the year.

A Strong Night for Project Hail Mary
In addition to Best of Show, Project Hail Mary performed well across multiple categories. The film also secured wins in areas such as Best Drama, Best Fantasy/Adventure, and Best Music for its trailers.
These wins reflect the consistency of the film’s marketing strategy, which has focused on delivering a cohesive and engaging message across different promotional formats.
The recognition also reinforces the growing importance of trailer production in shaping audience expectations and driving box office performance.
Other Major Winners at the Event
While Project Hail Mary dominated the top categories, several other films and studios also received significant recognition.
