Spider-Man: Brand New Day continues to demonstrate extraordinary staying power at the box office, with exhibitors keeping the Sony and Marvel blockbuster in more theaters than any other movie heading into its fifth weekend.
The Tom Holland-led film will play in 3,678 theaters, narrowly retaining the widest release of the weekend despite a drop from the previous weekend’s 4,006 locations. The continued support comes even as new releases Coyote vs. Acme and Ridley Scott’s The Dog Stars enter the marketplace.
Spider-Man’s Theatrical Run Shows No Sign of Slowing Down
The fifth-weekend theater count underlines the remarkable demand for Spider-Man: Brand New Day, which has dominated cinemas since opening on July 31. The film has already broken several major box office records and currently ranks among the biggest theatrical hits in history.

The superhero epic had surpassed Avengers: Endgame to become the second-highest-grossing film of all time at the domestic box office. It was also expected to pass James Cameron’s Titanic on another major all-time box office chart during its continued run.
Meanwhile, Coyote vs. Acme is opening in 3,575 theaters, while The Dog Stars will debut in 3,330 locations. Despite the arrival of both new films, Brand New Day remains exhibitors’ biggest theatrical bet, reflecting the sustained audience demand for Spider-Man.
Sony Pictures describes the film as a new chapter for Peter Parker as he continues fighting crime as Spider-Man in a world that no longer remembers his civilian identity. The film is directed by Destin Daniel Cretton and stars Tom Holland alongside Zendaya, Sadie Sink, Jacob Batalon and Jon Bernthal.
With the film expected to add millions more to its already historic global total, Spider-Man: Brand New Day remains one of 2026’s biggest theatrical success stories.
