Spider-Man: Brand New Day is continuing its extraordinary run at the domestic box office, with the Tom Holland-led Marvel movie projected to earn around $143 million during its second weekend. If the estimate holds, the superhero sequel will record the third-biggest second weekend in domestic box office history, trailing only Star Wars: The Force Awakens and Avengers: Endgame.
The latest figures were reported by The Hollywood Reporter, which reported that the film earned approximately $43 million on Friday. That puts Brand New Day on course for a weekend decline of roughly 60%, an impressive hold considering the movie opened to a record-breaking $360 million in North America.
The performance would also push the movie’s domestic total to approximately $653 million after just 10 days, potentially giving it the biggest 10-day domestic total ever recorded.
Spider-Man: Brand New Day Continues Breaking Box Office Records
The second-weekend projection comes after an unusually strong opening run for Spider-Man: Brand New Day. The film crossed $500 million domestically faster than any movie in box office history, reaching the milestone in only seven days and surpassing Avengers: Endgame, which previously needed eight days.
The movie also became the second-fastest film to pass $1 billion worldwide, reaching the milestone after only six days. According to the latest reporting, its worldwide opening reached $932 million, making it the second-biggest global debut ever behind Avengers: Endgame.
Its domestic opening was particularly significant for Sony. Brand New Day surpassed Endgame’s $357.1 million opening to establish a new North American record, while Spider-Man: No Way Home previously held Sony’s second-weekend record with $84.5 million.
The current second-weekend projection places Brand New Day just behind two of the biggest blockbusters ever. The Force Awakens remains the record holder with $149.2 million in its second weekend, while Endgame earned $147.3 million during its sophomore frame.
The movie is also benefiting from relatively limited direct competition at the top of the chart. Christopher Nolan’s The Odyssey is expected to remain in second place with approximately $30.5 million during its fourth weekend, bringing its domestic total to around $460.1 million.
Several new releases are opening considerably below the Marvel blockbuster. One Night Only is projected to earn about $6 million, while Super Troopers 3 and Ice Cream Man are tracking at approximately $3.9 million and $2.1 million, respectively.
Brand New Day stars Holland as Peter Parker alongside Zendaya, Sadie Sink, Jon Bernthal and Mark Ruffalo. Directed by Destin Daniel Cretton, the film reportedly carries a production budget of approximately $225 million.
With another massive weekend ahead, Spider-Man: Brand New Day is rapidly establishing itself as one of 2026’s defining theatrical successes. Its latest numbers also put the film in position to challenge even more domestic box office records if strong audience demand continues.
